According to the Daily Mail, sacking Sean Dyche under mounting pressure would cost Everton up to £4 million.
The newspaper revealed on page 77 of its print edition on Friday (22 September) that there is a condition in the Toffees manager’s contract that allows him to be paid up until the conclusion of the season.
It further stated that the putative new owners, 777 Partners, are fans of the Englishman and that it is unclear who at Goodison Park has the ability to fire him while the takeover is ongoing.

This is a difficult decision to make because the results haven’t been good enough this season, despite the fact that the performances haven’t been too poor.
Dyche came in last season and saved the team from what appeared to be certain relegation, and he will be backed to do so again this season.
But is that enough for a team the size of the Blues? It certainly isn’t, and things on the pitch must improve immediately or he may be in trouble.
After what he accomplished in the second half of last season, he is likely to be given at least a few more games to try to turn things around.
It’s unclear who would make that decision, given 777 Partners does not currently have the necessary authority, and Farhad Moshiri is unlikely to want to add to the confusion. Only time will tell.
