Carter Lowe, a four-star offensive tackle, will be moving south to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2025. On Saturday afternoon, Lowe declared his allegiance to the Buckeyes, selecting them above the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Michigan Wolverines. “To me, the culture stood out overall,” Lowe said to On3. “I realized that I had to take part in it. From the beginning, they have truly made me feel at home. There was nothing like the bond I shared with Coach Day and Coach Frye.”
For Lowe, who presently attends Whitmer High School and lives close to Toledo, Ohio, Ohio State is not a far drive. He’ll be away from his roots in the northern regions of the state for just over two hours in the car. Lowe gave a glowing account of his recruitment experience with the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound tackle claimed that from their first meeting, offensive line coach Justin Frye made him feel important. In the interview, Lowe stated, “I’m closest with Coach Frye; he has made me a priority for them since the day they offered me.” “Their plan for me is to be developed all around, as a person and a player, to the highest ability.”
Lowe, a vital addition to the 2025 class, is ranked by the On3 Industry Ranking as the No. 3 player in Ohio, the No. 9 offensive tackle, and the No. 85 player overall. Lowe will play at Whitmer High for his last year before moving on to a university in 2025.
