JUST IN: Dallas cowboys are set to make an official appeal following poor officiating vs Eagles – ‘Refereeagles’

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Philadelphia Eagles will take any “Sunday Night Football” victory over the dreaded Dallas Cowboys here at AT&T Stadium. Including, of course, if a victory is “given to them” by the officiating crew led by John Hussey. We’ve been using the phrase “Philadelphia Refereeagles” in Dallas this week to emphasize that when Hussey works a Philadelphia game, Philadelphia wins. Always. Each and every time. Seven of seven. To be fair, when Hussey referees, the home team usually wins. In fairness, over the last few years, the odds are pretty good that any officiating crew will end up overseeing a Philly win…

Simply because Philly has won the last few years.

But what would the 10-2 Eagles and 9-3 Cowboys prefer, given that each team enters “Sunday Night Football” with plenty of confidence? That the best team, which each team believes is themselves, wins. And that the officials are simply acting as the “traffic cops” that they are.

This game will help determine who wins the NFC East, and possibly who gets the conference’s top seed in the playoffs.
Most observers, however, want the game to “decide” things, not Hussey and his crew, who were in charge of the Eagles’ 26-17 win over the Cowboys on “Monday Night Football” last season, as well as the Eagles’ 31-7 victory over the Giants.

The Eagles were penalized twice for 10 yards in their win over Dallas on “Monday Night Football,” while the Cowboys were flagged 10 times for 72 yards.

In last season’s NFC Championship game against San Francisco, the 49ers were flagged 11 times for 81 yards, while Philadelphia was flagged four times for 34 yards.
Given all of this, an Eagles fan might be tempted to root for imbalance, even hope for bad officiating.

What’s the issue with that mindset? In general, lopsided and poor officiating could theoretically victimize anyone at any time. Except, perhaps, when John “7-0” Hussey works an Eagles game.
