ESPN TRADE REPORT: Broncos about to trade wth the Chicago Bears for Justin Fields

This offseason, the Chicago Bears plan to try to sell Justin Fields. The Denver Broncos will be associated with them until the end of this drama. There are obvious reasons to associate the two.

Could the Denver Broncos make a trade with the Chicago Bears for Justin Fields?
The Denver Broncos are one of the few teams that officially acknowledge that they are moving on from their quarterback. Sean Payton and Russell Wilson did not work out, so the Broncos will seek for a new quarterback. So, the only team that is upfront about it while also lacking a top-three choice will be rumoured to have players for Justin Fields. Sean Payton wanted to make Taysom Hill a starter, whereas Fields would be more athletic and a better passer.

However, as previously stated, Payton has specific quarterback preferences. He had Drew Brees for years, and while he intended to transform Hil into a quarterback, it never occurred. Payton understands how to deal with quarterbacks who stay on schedule, stick to the script, and execute the play as planned. That explains why he got along so well with Brees. That is why he frequently disagreed with Wilson.
Does it sound like a guy willing to go all in for Justin Fields? Fields certainly plays more like Wilson than Brees, if that is what Payton is aiming for.

On paper, there may be no better fit for Justin Fields than the Denver Broncos. Behind the scenes and on a personal level, it appears that the Broncos will not even contact the Chicago Bears regarding Fields.
