Alabama has remained the top team in college football since 2009, thanks largely to the guidance of its former head coach, the renowned Nick Saban. After retiring earlier this year, the team’s reins were turned over to Kalen DeBoer, the new head coach.
Alabama is looking good under DeBoer.
DeBoer has done an excellent job of keeping players on the Alabama roster under Saban, such as quarterback Jalen Milroe, and the Crimson Tide are preparing for 2024. Many people believe it will be a down year for them. But they will continue to compete at a high level. They have just added one of the best players at his position to the spring portal.
The Crimson Tide landed the best kicker in the nation.
Graham Nicholson, a kicker from Miami, Ohio, went to his X page on Sunday night and posted a letter thanking Miami for the past three years before announcing his commitment to Alabama.
Nicholson was the best kicker in the 2023 college football season, winning the Lou Groza Award, which is given to the nation’s top kicker. He was the first MAC player to receive the honour.
Nicholson was 35 for 37 on XPs and 27 for 28 on field goals last season, and the Crimson Tide has just added a superb player.
Will Reichard was one of the best college kickers in Alabama football history.
Will Reichard, one of the top kickers in college football in recent years, will leave the Crimson Tide for the NFL this season. He established the NCAA record for most points scored by a single player in a career.
Nicholson will have enormous shoes to fill at Alabama, but he has already been dubbed the finest kicker in the sport, so he’s off to a quick start.
