Chris Ewald, a 2025 four-star cornerback from Chaminade-Madonna, has an 86.4 percent probability of committing to the Miami football program after dropping his top six on Monday. Ewald’s top six schools also include Auburn, Georgia, Louisville, and Penn State.
Ewald has official visits set with Georgia from May 31 to June 2, Louisville from June 11 to 13, Miami from June 14 to 16, and Penn State from June 19 to 21. Ewald has made the most unofficial visits to Miami (10), followed by Michigan (8), Florida State (5), and Auburn (4).
Ewald has been to Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Penn State twice each. Central Florida, Mississippi, Texas A&M, and USC all received one unofficial visit from Ewald. Michigan had a commitment from Ewald from December 2022 to January. Ewald was high school teammates with Zaquan Patterson and JoJo Trader, both 2024 Miami signees.
Ewald should get a chance to play early for Miami. Darryl Porter Jr. enters his final season in 2024. Damari Brown is expected to head Miami’s CBs in 2025, a thin position for the Hurricanes. Romanas Frederique Jr. is the sole CB who has signed with Miami for 2024.
Dylan Day signed with Miami as a safety, but he is anticipated to switch to cornerback. Robert Stafford signed Brown for the 2024 class. Expect Miami to prioritize CB in the 2025 class. Elijah Melendez, a four-star linebacker, is the only defensive commit among the seven players in the 2025 Miami class.
Ewald is the 164th prospect, 21st CB, and 22nd player in Florida’s 2025 class. Melendez is the only current 2025 Miami commit with a higher rating than Ewald. Ewald’s commitment may make him a cornerstone in Miami’s 2025 recruiting class. The 2025 Miami class currently ranks 19th in the 247Sports composite rankings.
