INCREDILE ADDITION: Ohio State Top Prospect Plegde Commitement to Louisville – Fans Are Absolutely Delighted

Micah Rice, the four-star safety from Cincinnati Moeller High School, had a busy Friday night.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Rice began the evening with a track competition at Cardinal Park on the University of Louisville’s campus. He stated that he ran a 48.8-second split in his 400 leg in a sprint medley relay, resulting in a final time that was among the top ten nationally.

Rice then headed down the street to L&N Stadium for another visit with Louisville football. He was able to watch some of the Cardinals’ Spring Game and then spoke with U of L defensive coordinator Ron English.
“The track meet was also convenient since it was on Louisville’s track,” Rice told ESPN. “It was fantastic. Coach English and I moved my formal visit until May 10th. He thought it was funny that my formal visit would fall on my birthday, May 10-12. My birthday falls on the 12th.”

Rice stated he appreciated his stay. He was offered a scholarship during a visit to campus in January and returned for spring practice.
“I liked it a lot,” Rice stated during his last visit to the University of Louisiana. “Coach (Ron) English and Coach (Jeff) Brohm sat down with the family to express their interest.”

Rice told 247Sports that he has trips scheduled to Arizona (May 3-5) and Stanford (June 7-9).
Rice has received offers from Power Five institutions Stanford and Kentucky, as well as the University of Louisville. He has received a total of twenty offers. After his January visit, Rice said he liked what he saw from English, Louisville’s defensive coordinator.

“He seemed very experienced as a coach as he explained the history of big-time schools he coached at,” Rice was quoted as saying. “I thought his understanding of the game, particularly during our film session, was quite reassuring. One aspect of the institution that piqued my interest was how active the athletic community appeared to be.”

Rice ended his junior season with 54 tackles, three interceptions, 1.5 sacks, and seven pass breakups.

Rice is a three-star prospect ranked among the Top 40 in Ohio by 247Sports.
