NFL BREAKING NEWS: ‘It’s Bills or Retirement: NFL Top Star Star Reveals on Future

Micah Hyde, a former Buffalo Bills safety, returned to Buffalo on Thursday for a charity softball tournament and shared some insight into his future.

Hyde spent the previous seven seasons with the Bills, where he and Jordan Poyer were regarded as one of the league’s greatest safety duos. He is now a free agent, but during the NFL Combine in February, Bills general manager Brandon Beane told 7 Sports that Hyde earned the right to take his time deciding on his future.

“There’s no rush on my end,” Hyde remarked Thursday. “I’ve been open book with Beane and Sean; I just finished talking to them. We are all on the same page. I am a 33-year-old man who wants to live a healthy life and prioritizes his family. At the same time, I’d love to win the Super Bowl; that would be incredible. So, we’ll see and take it day by day.”

A reporter then asked him a question, to which he replied, “It’s Bills or retire, I’m not going anywhere else.”

In January, Hyde’s wife, Amanda, sent an impassioned letter to fans, saying, in part, “Buffalo is special, y’all!”
During his time with the Bills, Hyde became a fan favourite, and his charity softball game became a springtime tradition in Western New York.

The fourth annual event will take place on Sunday at Sahlen Field, with 35 current Bills players slated to participate, including quarterback Josh Allen, offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, and tight end Dalton Kincaid.

“It’s just cool that I’m technically not even on the team right now and I just got done talking to the players and they’re all super excited to come,” Hyde added. “On top of that, the community is quite thrilled. So it’s simply everyone getting together, and it’s an incredible event that we host every year.”

Tickets to the event, which benefits Hyde’s Imagine for Youth Foundation, are still available. You may get additional information here.
