Balcombe has represented England at the Under-18, U19, and U20 levels, and made his senior debut for Brentford in the Carabao Cup against Newport County in August, saving two penalties in a shootout win.

Balcombe, who is presently Brentford’s third choice, has spent time on loan at Boreham Wood, Viborg, Doncaster Rovers, Burton Albion, Bromley, Crawley Town, and Bristol Rovers.
“I’m delighted that Ellery has extended his contract; he is a Brentford man through and through,” Frank added.

“I’m overjoyed that he got his well-deserved debut against Newport and had such an impact in the penalty shootout.”

“No two players’ paths are the same. Ellery has progressed naturally as a goalkeeper, going on loan, developing, and then returning to us. You can tell how hard he worked and how much effort he put in.

“He’s been more consistent, and he has a lot of potential.” We’re delighted that he sees a future here, because we certainly do.”
