TEXAS LATEST NEWS: Texas Head Coach Steve Sarkisian Has a Surprising Suggestion How to Fix Texas Injury Report Problems

Steve Sarkisian has a simple solution for getting college football coaches to be open about injury reporting.

The SEC is well aware that gambling has become a significant element among fans, particularly now that many states have legalized sports betting. The SEC is proposing imposing injury reports known as “availability reports.”

What motive would coaches have to be genuine in their injury reports? Sarkisian advocates sanctions for coaches to keep them honest.

“Fine with us. That is what they do in the NFL. “I’m a big believer in this,” Sarkisian said Wednesday during the league’s spring meetings. “The NFL has already figured out a lot of these stuff, and they’ve had to deal with all of these incidents. We don’t need to strive to recreate the wheel so much. If I try to trick the system and fail to report a guy, we’ll get fined. We all enjoy the money that we make. That’s a fairly straightforward approach for us to follow the guidelines.”

The SEC has not yet introduced mandated injury reporting among football programs, like the NFL has. However, they are considering it, and availability reports appear to be soon. When that moment comes, Sark believes you should put fines in place as a deterrence.
