Astros Trade Update: Astros GM Dana Brown Has Reveals Astros Have Reached Full Agreement to Land All-Star Bat Ahead of Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners

The MLB trade deadline is just hours away, and some All-Star players, like Jazz Chisholm Jr., have already been dealt. With the American League battle heating up, MLB trade rumours have linked the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, and Houston Astros to the same All-Star player.

It’s not surprising that AL West contenders have some gaps to fill. Houston was one of baseball’s weakest teams until June, and Seattle lost a 10-game division lead. As for Texas, it is still working its way back to a winning record and will not be present at the MLB trade deadline.

All three teams have suffered, but they are all buyers. Seattle completed a trade for Tampa Bay Rays All-Star outfielder Randy Arozarena. Meanwhile, Texas and Houston have been linked to a number of players in MLB trade rumours. With just hours until the deadline, the AL West rivals may be in a bidding battle for an All-Star bat.

According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Rays are open to trade offers for All-Star first baseman Yandy Diaz. With the veteran slugger available, the Astros, Mariners, and Pittsburgh Pirates are seen as potential landing locations.
Meanwhile, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic writes that the Rangers are interested in Diaz. It is still unclear how many trade negotiations Tampa Bay has had with other teams over Diaz. However, a deal is more likely now that the Rays have moved away numerous starting pitchers.

Yandy Diaz (ESPN):.272/.327/.400,.727 OPS with 8 home runs, 47 RBI, and 21 doubles in 390 at-bats.
Diaz, 32, made his first All-Star Game appearance last year and finished as the American League’s hitting champion. While he hasn’t matched his batting average from last season, the right-handed hitter has a batting average above.300 this summer. Furthermore, he has a.839 OPS over the last three seasons.
