News from the Pompey team
Due to international call-ups and the lack of a league matchup over the weekend, John Mousinho has stated that there will be no wholesale changes for this match.
Alex Robertson, Paddy Lane, Regan Poole, and Terry Devlin have all been called up for international service and will miss this match.
“I don’t think we’ll have the luxury of rotating it completely this week,” Mousinho told reporters.
We’re missing four players due to international commitments.
“We’ve also picked up a few more injuries since then,” he added. “We’ll rotate in some areas, but there will be a lot of players who played on Saturday who will start on Tuesday.”
The decision on whether Kusini Yengi will start will be made on Monday afternoon and communicated to the squad.
He returned to action last weekend after missing more than a month due to injury, and he might earn some crucial first-team minutes in the competition. Pompey’s medical team has given him the go-ahead to begin.
Connor Ogilvie is a ‘few of days’ behind Kusini Yengi, having only properly trained for the first time on Monday. He will most likely miss out and will instead participate in further training sessions before being ready for a match.
Anthony Scully and Tom Lowery have been out for some time, and Marlon Pack has been declared out for the foreseeable future.
Alex Robertson, Anthony Scully, Connor Ogilvie, Marlon Pack, Paddy Lane, Regan Poole, and Terry Devlin have all been ruled out.
Team news from Gillingham
Gillingham have suffered a slew of injuries, including attacker Ashley Nadesan. After complaining of an ankle pain, he was replaced after only 15 minutes. Nadesan will get a scan to see if he can play on Tuesday.
Jonny Williams was supposed to play last Saturday, but he got hurt in practice. He strained a ligament in his ankle, adding to his doubts for the Gills.
George Lapsalie had a hamstring strain in midweek and was unable to play last weekend. He was left out and will be evaluated further.
Shaun Williams, the club captain, has missed the last two games. He has a knee problem, and the Gills have taken measures with him.
Meanwhile, Oli Hawkins and Tim Dieng are long-term absentees and will not be eligible for selection.
George Lapslie, Oli Hawkins, Shaun Williams, and Tim Dieng are all out. Ashley Nadesan and Jonny Williams are both questionable.
