WNBA Beef Escalating: Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend Brutal Response to LeBron James’ Message to Fever Star Caitlin Clark

On August 30, the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 100-81, winning their third game in a row. Fever guard Caitlin Clark faced up against her former college opponent, Sky forward Angel Reese, at Winrust Arena. Clark recorded a career-high 31 points, 12 assists, and 4 rebounds. She became the first player in WNBA history to score 25 points and 10 assists in her third game of the season. While Reese recorded her 23rd double-double of the season, the most by a rookie, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James barely acknowledged her once after the game. James’ message, “CAITLIN CLARK!!!!! HI HATERS,” drew the attention of Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.

McCaffery, who played basketball at Iowa and currently works as an assistant for the Indiana Pacers, noticed James’ comment in a repost on Instagram and liked it. James, a 20-time NBA All-Star and four-time NBA Champion, also shared a highlight video of Clark’s effort against the Sky. Clark and the Fever (16-16) won their season series against Reese and the Sky 3-1 and moved up to the sixth seed with Friday night’s victory. Former ESPN commentator Robert Griffin III believes the fight for Rookie of the Year is done.

RGIII posted a lengthy message that included the following: “Caitlin Clark just earned the WNBA Rookie of the Year award after tonight’s performance. Until tonight, the question was whether you valued rebounds and double doubles more than points and assists because Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese play different positions and are both balling. “But I’ll say the quiet part aloud.”Angel Reese is a fantastic player, but Caitlin Clark deserves the award. The Indiana Fever are a dangerous team entering the playoffs, and Caitlin Clark has earned your respect. Stop denying the facts.” Clark and the Fever will face the Dallas Wings on September 1.
