SAD NEWS: Maple Leaf Star Auston Matthews’ Latest Medical Issues Poised a Drastic Conerned For Leaf Nation.

Auston Matthews is now the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and after scoring over 70 goals last season, NHL fans are eager to see him back on the ice.

As many of you are aware, Matthews was suffering with an illness throughout the NHL Playoffs. He missed three games due to sickness, and when he returned for Game 7, he was simply not himself. Now he had the entire summer to heal. Unfortunately, a new image of the forward is starting to instill anxiety in some Leafs fans.

Below, Matthews appears to be much lighter than usual. He is normally listed as 215 pounds, but others feel he has lost about 15-20 pounds. There is no confirmation that this is the case, but others believe his condition has caused him to lose weight.
Only time will tell if he has genuinely lost the weight. However, you can see a slew of tweets below in which supporters voiced all of their concerns.

Hockey fans are known to be a nervous bunch at times, but perhaps his measurements at training camp can allay some anxieties. What we do know is that the first goal he scores this season will most certainly put an end to any speculation about the type of player he will be this season.
