Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, had a confrontation with Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders Friday night. Sanders is building a name for himself this college football season, as his performances propel him up NFL mock draft rankings. Some experts believe he could be chosen in the top five. In five games in 2024, he has passed for 1,630 yards, 14 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Sanders spent the Buffaloes’ bye week in Las Vegas, where he was photographed at the WNBA playoff game between the New York Liberty and the Vegas Aces.
During the game, Sanders and Davis met on the court’s baseline, where Davis admitted to Shedeur Sanders in five words. “I’ve watched all of your games,” he added.
Sanders is now in his second season as Colorado’s starting quarterback. Prior to that, he played two seasons with the Jackson State Tigers. He joined the Buffaloes alongside his father, head coach Deion Sanders, and standout two-way player Travis Hunter. Colorado is on a three-game winning streak and is 4-1. It has defeated North Dakota State, Colorado State, Baylor, and UCF. Colorado will be tested in Week 7 when it hosts the No. 20 Kansas State Wildcats.
ESPN’s kickoff time is 10:15 p.m. ET. Davis, aged 69, has been the Raiders’ majority owner since 2011, following the death of his father. During his tenure, the Raiders have entered the NFL playoffs only twice (in 2016 and 2021), losing both times in the wildcard round. In 2020, he relocated the franchise from Oakland to Las Vegas, where they had been since 1995.
