If you’re an Ohio State football fan like me, the last week has been spectacular. Without much difficulty, the Buckeyes defeated Penn State, a top-seven team. USC was defeated yet again by Utah. Perhaps the only thing that compares to Ohio State’s victory is what’s going on surrounding Michigan.
As you are aware, they have been accused of using technology to unlawfully grab signs from other teams’ sidelines in order to figure out what plays are being run. Connor Stalions, the low-level employee who has since been suspended, appears to be at the heart of the scheme.
Things have gotten a lot more interesting since then. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the NCAA is receiving video proof of the Stalions videotaping the sidelines as part of the inquiry. He is plainly seen videotaping opponents from the stands in the video.
This is an amusing break in the case. How foolish can you be to be caught on stadium video doing this by opponents? There is also a paper trail that appears to connect to him receiving money to acquire these tickets. That could very well be Jim Harbaugh’s fault.
Of course, there is no actual proof to support this claim…yet. The more information that comes out about this issue, the clearer it becomes that there is cheating going on with that program. Thamel claimed that the Stalions had purchased game tickets for three years.
This guy was most certainly filming every Big Ten opponent over the last three seasons. It’s no surprise that they began to improve in 2021. He even purchased tickets to this weekend’s Ohio State-Penn State football game but was suspended before he could attend.
Michigan is finding it increasingly difficult to deny anything was going on as new information emerges. We will undoubtedly follow this story as it progresses.
