OMG…San Antonio Spurs Star Chris Paul Issues Strong Statement on NBA Future Amid Spurs Missing Playoffs

Chris Paul will miss the playoffs for the second season in a row. The future Hall of Famer was with the Golden State Warriors last season, but they did not make the playoffs, and Paul’s current team, the San Antonio Spurs, will miss the playoffs this year. Paul turns 40 in May. He will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Some are speculating whether the 12-time All-Star may retire this summer. However, in an interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Paul stated that he will most likely participate next season.

“I’ll turn 40 in May. So, sure, I’m going to keep playing, I think,” Paul stated. “After each season, I examine everything. Consider playing. Evaluate how my body feels. But as the years pass, I find myself having more conversations with my family and children. They have a lot of say in this. They received a lot of input. Obviously, I have a lot of pals that have retired or anything. And they’re always like, “Man, play as long as you possibly can.” Play for as long as you possibly can. And I appreciate it. But I also want to talk about it with my children because it is the most important job I have.

I love to play. I absolutely love my children and family more than I like playing. Anyone who is involved in this understands that the sacrifice might last much longer. I promised that this summer I would study it and discuss it with my family.” This season, Paul averages 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists for the Spurs. He’s the NBA’s second-oldest player. Paul’s close friend, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, is the league’s oldest player (40).
