The Milwaukee Bucks have already released their injury report for Tuesday’s game against the New York Knicks. It will be a must-win game for the Bucks if they are to keep their hopes of winning the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament alive.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they will have to do so without the services of veteran swingman Pat Connaughton.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Updates Pat Connaughton’s Injury
Connaughton suffered his first injury on November 28 in Milwaukee’s 131-124 victory over the Miami Heat. With an ankle sprain, the 30-year-old was forced to leave the game and was unable to return. He has since missed two games in a row, with Tuesday’s game being his third.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin gave an ominous update on Connaughton’s future status:
“I don’t think he’ll be available this week,” Griffin said, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
Griffin has now unofficially ruled Connaughton out for the upcoming week, which means the veteran will most likely be unavailable throughout the In-Season Tournament.
If the Bucks defeat the Knicks on Tuesday, they will play either the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers on Thursday. Milwaukee will play in the NBA Finals on Saturday if they win again. At this point, it does not appear that Connaughton will be able to assist his team throughout the tournament’s knockout stage.
