Joe Flacco, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, wants everyone to know he’s not going out without a fight. According to NFL Network, the seasoned quarterback intends to continue playing in 2024 and has no intention of retiring. At the age of 38, Flacco is enjoying a successful return to Cleveland.
Many NFL teams had felt that Flacco was passed his prime. After joining the Browns’ practice squad in November, the seasoned gunslinger fought his way up to a starting position and a one-year contract. He’s been on the rise with the Browns ever since. Since joining the team, Flacco has passed for 565 yards, five touchdowns, and just two interceptions in two games.
The Browns defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 31–27 in the previous game. Flacco threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns in a fantastic performance.
In 2012, Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens won a Super Bowl. He was declared the game’s Most Valuable Player. The Ravens selected Flacco in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He was a player for the Eagles, Broncos, and Jets as well. Throughout his career, he has passed for 42,885 yards with 237 touchdowns and 149 interceptions. Since his last season with the Ravens in 2018, Flacco has not thrown for more over 2,000 yards in a single season.
In professional sports, comeback stories are always fascinating to watch, and Browns fans may be witnessing one while watching Flacco this season. Sunday’s game against the 5-8 Chicago Bears will be Flacco’s next chance to lead the Browns to victory. Having won their previous two games, the Bears enter the game with momentum.
