On the eve of their game against Newcastle, Zlatan Ibrahimovic opted to return ‘home’ to Milanello on Monday to visit the AC Milan squad and staff.
According to Il Giornale (via MilanNews), the Swede paid a visit to Stefano Pioli and his former teammates, who had just began work in preparation for their Champions League debut after the devastating defeat in the derby.
It is a long-planned visit that was originally set for Friday but was moved to yesterday due to Zlatan’s participation in a charity match to benefit flood victims.
However, it could be a foreshadowing of things to come. Ibrahimovic has yet to commit to anything since retiring from football as a player, so a return to Milan in any manner remains possible.
According to the newspaper, Geoffrey Moncada verified the continued contact with the 41-year-old.
