Before the game against Newcastle United, Zlatan Ibrahimovic spoke with AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale, and then he was sighted in the stands.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (see below), Ibrahimovic and Milan met twice in a row: once at Milanello on the eve of the Newcastle game, and again yesterday in a hotel in Corso Venezia.

The creator of RedBird, the fund to which Milan belongs, and Zlatan are two powerful individuals who could not have met by chance, much alone over a cup of coffee.
There’s something else on the table, but what? According to reports in the club, there was not a ‘job interview,’ and no contract has been offered to Ibra (yet), but there is often no smoke without fire.
It’s impossible to imagine Ibrahimovic fitting into the existing club hierarchy because he wouldn’t take a second-rate function and in the organization, all the boxes are checked.
On the sporting front, Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio lead the market, Giorgio Furlani is the CEO, Paolo Scaroni is the president, and Franco Baresi holds the ‘honorary’ post.

The idea is that after Ibra overcomes his doubts about the future, he will want to commit to a project in which he will be involved and, above all, operational.
Meanwhile, Cardinale and Ibra both wanted to keep the door open. It was a casual, instructive conversation to determine whether there is mutual interest and potential area for manoeuvre for future collaboration.
It’s logical to explore a position closer to the team, either on Pioli’s staff or as a figure in contact with the players. Could this be the answer? Time and the protagonists will tell, but some assumptions have been made.
Pioli would not object: he has always claimed to be close to Zlatan – even if he is not.

Despite significant changes during the summer, this squad preserves the roots of the club that won the Scudetto with Zlatan in 2021-22.
