Six prospects for the Detroit Tigers break ESPN’s 100-list
With six of its prospects listed in ESPN’s top 100 preseason rankings, the Detroit Tigers are garnering a lot of attention and showing a bright future for the franchise. Select by draft guru Kiley McDaniel, these talented young players highlight the depth and promise in the Tigers’ system.
Jackson Jobe: The Pitcher of the Future
Jackson Jobe is an exceptional pitching prospect who is ranked No. 10. The 21-year-old has recovered from a back injury and shown incredible fortitude and skill in 64 innings pitched over four minor league levels, with a 2.81 ERA and 84 strikeouts. Jobe might get it to the majors by late 2024 or early 2025, according to McDaniel, who praises his “bananas raw stuff and starter command” and compares him to Spencer Strider but with more diversified offspeed stuff.

Max Clark—The Hopeful Third overall in the draft, outfielder Max Clark (No. 15) made a strong professional debut the previous season. A hit-first player predicted to knock 15–20 home runs in his career, Clark is well-known for his above-average centre field abilities and baserunning value. McDaniel saw him moving quickly through the minors, and if things work out, he might follow Jackson Holliday’s example.
Colt Keith: The Heavyweight
Colt Keith, drafted at No. 40, has already made an impression at the minor levels. Following a strong showing, he signed a six-year contract extension. In addition to 60 doubles and 27 home runs, he hit 306. Keith’s excellent power and in-game hitting abilities are noted by McDaniel, who predicts that he will fit in well at all four corners in the long run, although first base is his most natural position.
Parker Meadows, the MLB Rookie

With the Tigers, Parker Meadows (No. 45) made his Major League debut and demonstrated potential for more development. Over 37 games, Meadows hit.232 with three home runs. McDaniel projects a respectable.240/.340/.400 line with 15-20 home runs and mediocre center-field defence this season.
