The Green Bay Packers are aiming to rebound after a tough 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions, where their defense couldn’t secure a key stop late in the game, allowing the Lions to set up and convert a game-winning field goal. Despite the close back-and-forth, it was a stark contrast to their earlier performance against Detroit in Week 9.

In an effort to bolster their defense for the remainder of the season, the Packers made a minor roster move by signing EDGE rusher Jeremiah Martin to their practice squad.
Jeremiah Martin, 24, had an eventful offseason, beginning with the Cleveland Browns, where he had a solid preseason, totaling seven tackles, two sacks, and a tackle for loss. However, he was cut by the Browns in late August before the 53-man roster deadline.
After his release from the Browns, Martin signed with the Arlington Renegades in the UFL, but was traded to the Birmingham Stallions last month. The Packers’ signing of Martin to their practice squad could provide valuable depth at EDGE rusher, especially with only one pass rusher, Deslin Alexandre, currently on the practice squad. Green Bay will need to release someone from the practice squad to officially announce Martin’s signing, as they are at the maximum 17-player limit.

As for the Packers’ performance on the field, they are currently sitting with a 9-4 record, positioning them well for a playoff run. However, one key area of concern is Jordan Love’s turnover issues. Despite strong performances and notable comebacks, Love has thrown 11 interceptions in 11 games, which is limiting his effectiveness at times. Andrew Hawkins recently highlighted this on ESPN’s “NFL Live,” emphasizing that the Packers’ playoff hopes could hinge on Love’s ability to limit turnovers as the season progresses.
