The Chicago Bulls enjoyed a relatively quiet summer while negotiating a contract with restricted free agent Josh Giddey.
The Bulls did, however, deal Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaac Okoro, and they are allegedly open to making another move before the trade deadline in 2025-26. With the roster looking vastly different than it did in the early 2020s, the rebuilding Bulls are anticipated to continue tweaking.
Two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic has been the subject of trade speculation for quite some time. However, his expensive contract has previously deterred potential suitors. Still, an Eastern Conference opponent looking for frontcourt depth could make a move.

In a potential trade, the Bulls would swap Nikola Vucevic for Anfernee Simons
Josh Canu, NBC Sports Boston reportedly proposed a trade that would provide the Bulls Anfernee Simons and his expiring contract in return for Vucevic.
Boston has made reducing salary a primary focus this offseason, and trading Simons for Vucevic would save the team almost $6.2 million. The veteran big man has only one year left on his contract, so the Celtics would not get bound into a long-term financial commitment.
Simons also has one year remaining on his contract, but the Bulls would gain a young, high-scoring guard to examine ahead of free agency next summer. In 70 regular-season games with the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Simons averaged 19.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 32.7 minutes.

Given the continuous trade rumors and Boston’s existing frontcourt depth, a Simons-for-Vucevic deal before the trade deadline wouldn’t be unexpected.
