With all of the NFL’s head coaching jobs filled, it appears that defensive coordinator Patrick Graham will stay with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024. Graham was able to coach one of the best defences in the NFL last season, and there is one man that has the potential to take the defence to the next level.
Chris Jones, the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, is ready to play in his fourth Super Bowl, but his contract expires at the end of the season. If the Chiefs are unable to extend his contract, he will be free to join with another team, and Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby would want to see the five-time Pro Bowler wear silver and black.
“I mean, I would take Chris Jones in a heartbeat,” Crosby said in an interview with Heavy Sports on February 1. “I know Chris quite well. So, there are a lot of men available in free agency, including many great defensive tackles. It would be fantastic. Chris Jones, for example, is one of the top players in the game, if not the best. I understand he’s a Chief, but at the end of the day, if you want to come to the Raiders, come on down. “I am all for it.”
In 2023, the Raiders’ defensive tackles combined for 9.5 sacks, with Jones accounting for 10.5 on his own. Combining him and Crosby on the defensive line would give Las Vegas one of the strongest defensive tandems in the NFL.

How Much Is Chris Jones Expected to Earn?
The biggest question about a potential Chris Jones deal is how much he’ll cost in free agency. Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus reportedly predicted Jones would sign a four-year contract worth $120 million in free agency.
Spotrac predicts the Raiders will have $43 million in salary cap space this summer, allowing them to finance a big name like Jones. Last season, Las Vegas’ defence showed how good it could be, placing tenth in points allowed (19.5 per game). However, the team spent the second-fewest salary cap dollars on defence. Spending heavily on a proven player like Jones may be just what the squad needs to become a top-five unit next season.
Jones is still only 29 years old, so he should have plenty of years left in the tank. Furthermore, compensating the defensive tackle would harm the rival Chiefs in the process.

Maxx Crosby Partners with Invisalign.
Maxx Crosby has become as one of the NFL’s most recognizable faces and defensive players. Despite this, he struggles with insecurity. He has opted to work with Invisalign to improve his teeth and boost his confidence.
“I didn’t grow up with braces,” Crosby told Heavy Sports. “I’ve always wanted to have the best set of teeth in the world.” So Invisalign was an ideal partner, and there are now over 400 guys in the league that use Invisalign, and they came in with a fantastic offer, so it was a match made in heaven. So I’ve just started, and it’s exciting. I’m excited to see how it will look in the future, and to have that confidence both on and off the field.”
